On September 26, during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week, the Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR) partnered with the Doha Forum, Stimson Center, and International Peace Institute (IPI) to co-host a pivotal policy forum titled “The Innovation Imperative: Technology and the Future of International Cooperation.”
The event marked the launch of the 2024 “Future of International Cooperation” report, a collaborative effort by GISR and its partners. Building on insights from the 2023 Doha Forum, the report provides actionable recommendations to advance global dialogue—particularly on leveraging transformative technologies like AI, biotechnology, green innovation, and cyber governance to address humanity’s most pressing challenges. It also examines critical peace and security dimensions, including governance of weapons of mass destruction and outer space.
Speakers included senior representatives from the UN, European Commission, Microsoft, and leading academic and policy institutions. The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas on using technology to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and ensure sustainable peace.
GISR played a key role as a co-organizer and contributor to the report and discussions, reinforcing its engagement in shaping future-oriented global cooperation frameworks.
